Beginner level mahjong casual meetup JAPANESE VERSION. You can be as casual or as competitive that you want. HOWEVER. ALL players must have either attended and “graduated” from an irl mahjong class once or have played a full irl hanchan (you can bring in your own yaku sheet). Unfortunately, we do not have enough time to teach someone from the ground up. Please come knowing the basics- and that includes reading japanese tiles without numbers, basic yakus, riichi, and basic tile efficiency (5 blocks). This will make it more fun for everyone. DM me for resources if you need.

We’ll use the regular riichi ruleset with the normal riichi sticks. We’ll use automatic if one is available.

We’ll play as part of the public open play at the center instead of reservations, so by joining, you agree to accommodate Sparrow Nest’s matchmaking if necessary.

Please sign in and sign out at the front desk when you enter and exit the building. You are welcome to stay as long as you’d like.
